IU Football: Cignetti Says WR Donaven McCulley is Day-to-Day After Taking Hit

Hoosiers Wide Receiver's Status Uncertain Following Injury

Indiana University football coach Tom Allen provided an update on the status of wide receiver Donaven McCulley on Monday, saying that the player is day-to-day after taking a hit in Saturday's game against FIU.

McCulley left the game in the second half after taking a hit over the middle from FIU safety Richard Dames. He was slow to get up and was helped off the field by trainers.

Allen said that McCulley is still being evaluated and that the team is taking a cautious approach with his injury. He did not provide a timetable for McCulley's return.

McCulley's Role in the Hoosiers' Offense

McCulley is a key part of the Hoosiers' offense. He is the team's leading receiver with 23 catches for 342 yards and two touchdowns through four games.

If McCulley is unable to play in Saturday's game against Western Kentucky, it would be a significant blow to the Hoosiers' passing attack.

Other Injuries for the Hoosiers

McCulley is not the only Hoosier who is dealing with an injury. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is also day-to-day with a shoulder injury.

Allen said that Penix is making progress and that he is hopeful that he will be able to play on Saturday.

The Hoosiers are 3-1 this season and are looking to improve to 4-1 with a win over Western Kentucky on Saturday.
