Background information on Sol Campbell

Sol Campbell was born on September 18, 1974, in London, England. He is a former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Campbell began his career with Tottenham Hotspur, where he made his debut in 1992. He went on to play for Arsenal, Portsmouth, and Newcastle United before retiring in 2012.

Playing career

Campbell was a member of the England national team from 1996 to 2007 and was part of the team that reached the semi-finals of the 1996 European Championship and the quarter-finals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He was also a member of the Great Britain Olympic team that competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Campbell was a highly decorated player, winning the Premier League title twice with Arsenal, the FA Cup twice with Arsenal and Portsmouth, and the League Cup twice with Tottenham Hotspur. He was also named PFA Players' Player of the Year in 2003. After retiring from playing, Campbell worked as a pundit for Sky Sports.
