Korey Larson let out a shriek as he crossed the finish line. The 2022 Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon was a Stillwater. Every year, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is a Boston qualifying USATF sanctioned event.
Larson, 34, won the men's full marathon in 2 hours, 16 minutes, and 4 seconds. He was followed by Christopher Guthrie, 32, of Oklahoma City, in 2:17:08, and Matthew Smith, 29, of Dallas, in 2:17:12.
Catherine Lisle, 29, of Edmond, won the women's full marathon in 2:39:45. She was followed by Sarah Glendening, 31, of Oklahoma City, in 2:40:12, and Emily Richards, 27, of Tulsa, in 2:40:23.
The marathon was held on a rainy and cold day, but that didn't stop more than 25,000 runners from participating.
The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the United States. The race honors the victims of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and raises money for the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.
The 2023 Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon will be held on April 23, 2023.
